Nikon D610
This camera is my pride and joy. It has been my absolute favorite since the day I bought it. The technical capabilities, dynamic range and image quality make it hard not to love. To be honest, I really like the fact that it also has some heavy duty weather proofing (useful, trust me) and has a slightly sturdier build than some other recent Nikon models. What seals the deal for me? The full frame sensor, seriously the best.
Nikon 50mm 1.4
This is my first true lens love. This fixed lens has a super fast focus and from portraits to bridal prep this lens simply provides a beautiful image.
Nikon 24-70mm 2.8
This lens is my second favorite, it offers a lot of latitude and although I may not use it constantly – when I need it, it delivers. You’re most likely to see this lens on my camera when I’m shooting family portraits with groups larger than 4 people and during wedding ceremonies!
Tamron 70-200mm f2.8
This is the holy grail of wedding photography lenses. I believe in the importance of maintaining a relatively low profile during a ceremony – it is horrible to have precious moments ruined by the intrusive presence of an ill placed photographer – but sometimes that’s easier said than done. This zoom lens solves the problem by allowing me to capture up close moments while staying out of the way.
Nikon D7000
Meet my back-up camera! This was my very first DSLR and it accompanied me through all the highs and lows of learning photography basics, the performance is spot on and it produces an equally beautiful image although it doesn’t feature the full frame sensor I’ve come to love in my D610.
These are just a few of the main components of my gear. Off camera flash, lighting equipment, back-up lenses and all the glorious little gizmos and toys that make things run smoothly aren’t featured in this post, if you’re curious about what else is in my bag feel free to direct inquires via the contact page!
